March, 2012Calculating Chrome Discharge Limits
Q. My chrome discharge limit is-lets say- 0.5 mg/day. The wastewater flow is 400 gpd. If the result of my sampling was 0.12 mg/L. How do I know if I am in compliance?
A. Is your limit .5 mg/day, or .5 mg/l?
.5 mg/day is unusual, if not unheard of?
But to answer your question:
Take the (400 Gallons/day)*(.12 mg/Liter)*( 3.78 liters/gallon) = 181.44 mg/day of Chrome discharged
