State Regulations

In addition to federal air requirements, metal finishing facilities may be subject to a variety of state air regulations, including requirements to submit source registrations, obtain permits, report types and quantities of air emissions, and/or use particular emission control technologies. Because air regulations are particularly complex and rapidly changing, a metal finisher should seek advice from their state agency or private counsel to determine which federal and state air emission regulations may apply. To find a point of contact at your state agency, use the STERC's Air Pollution Resource Locator.
